Nine tools sit beside the book: the country cards, the identity scoreboard, the Century Slider, the three-card comparison, the growth-pole map, the sovereign debt tracker, Balance-Sheet Africa, the AfCFTA linkage explorer, and the convergence calculator. A blank is a blank, never a zero.
Country cards
Fifty-four UN-member states, one card each: the identity, scale, debt, and the data-quality layer that drives the confidence flag.
Identity scoreboard
All three terms of the growth identity, country by country, beside observed GDP growth: term one on 54 cards, terms two and three on 53, the gap inside 1.5 points on 50 of the 52 where it can be computed.
The Century Slider
Drag 1950 to 2100 and watch the fifty-four countries resize. Scale by everybody, or by the working-age population aged 15 to 64, which is the term of the identity that produces the output.
Compare country cards
Three cards in three columns, on one shared scale: the identity and its terms, scale, debt, and the data-quality layer.
Growth Pole Map
States, corridors, and the eight poles. Colour by working-age growth or income; hatch the countries whose numbers will not carry the weight.
Sovereign Debt Tracker
Who governments owe, what falls due, and the gap between official stocks and the loan-level Chinese record. China view is a filter, not a second tool.
Balance-Sheet Africa
Sources and uses of funds for one country or the fifty-four summed: what is owed and to whom, on two cuts that are never added; what came in as remittances, investment and aid; what falls due over five years.
AfCFTA Linkage Explorer
Merchandise trade between African countries, with the AfCFTA register, the payments system and the Guided Trade Initiative carried on the country labels.
Convergence Calculator
Hold a growth rate for the rest of the century and read off which World Bank income line a country crosses, and when.
About the data. The tools read the same country-card records the chapters quote. What the cards carry, where each number comes from, and what a blank means is set out on its own page, and the whole set can be downloaded from the country cards page. Part I is the text that goes with them.
Field notes. Dated notes land here only when they change what a chapter or a tool should teach. The first is UNGA Week 2026: Connecting Capital to Projects, 25 September 2026: a primary record of a New York roundtable, kept apart from the textbook voice, with the PIDA sixty-nine, the diaspora-capital question and the American compliance wrapper stitched into Chapters 19, 10 and 33.
