Share Prices (share_prices/)¶
JSE equity data from Thomson Reuters Datastream (now LSEG). Datastream is licensed by subscription and its data may not be redistributed; these files are held for the project's own research and are not shared. Researchers need their own subscription.

The long-format share-price file is 335 MB. Load specific columns or use chunked reading for memory-constrained environments.
MV long format (2026-05)
The wide-format datastream_mv.csv has Datastream metadata blocks that make direct loading awkward. The long-format datastream_mv_long.csv reshapes the wide export into a clean firm-day panel. The parser is in the strikes-apartheid-jpe repository.
