Evidence and holdings

This page sets the kinds of evidence the literature uses beside what the project archive holds. It is meant for planning: which sources the literature leans on, which of them a researcher can work with here, and which would have to be found elsewhere.

How holdings are matched. The literature program recorded, for each primary source, where the project might hold it. Those guesses were made by an AI model. A source counts as held here only where that guess points to a folder or file that exists in the archive's file manifest. The match misses holdings the guesses did not name, so a dash means "not matched", not "not held". Holding a source also does not mean it has been transcribed or checked; the dataset pages give that status.

Of 897 primary sources cited in the literature, 59 are matched to the archive.
