Argument

This is a library research guide, not a scholarly argument. It lists print bibliographies, indexes and online databases for finding journal articles on South Africa. Print items are grouped by Library of Congress subject heading, followed by continent-wide indexes and online databases. It gives call numbers for Stanford's Green and Hoover libraries. Its value for the book is as a finding aid for economic, labour, sanctions and transition literature, not as a source of claims about apartheid.

Evidence and method

A compiled list of bibliographies, periodical indexes and databases with bibliographic details and Stanford call numbers. It uses no archival, statistical or interview evidence.
