Argument¶
This is a reference list, not an argued work. It compiles journal articles, review articles, theses, conference reports and obituaries on South African history published between 1996 and 1999, arranged alphabetically by author within each category. There is no annotation or analysis. Its value for this book is as a finding aid. Most entries cover the South African War, archaeology, cultural history, the TRC and identity. A smaller cluster bears on economic history, notably the South African Journal of Economic History special issue on the 1970s economy, work on sanctions and debt, mining labour, industrial relations and decentralisation.
Evidence and method¶
